the act of killing

Joshua Oppenheimer's psychological and incredibly unique documentary was made available for free for Indonesians with the scope of raising awareness. The film has Indonesian death squad leaders re-enact their mass-murder crimes against Communist Party members in the 1965/66 genocide in whichever cinematic genre they wish. Brillaint and brave experiment. Certainly provoking quite some cognitive dissonance in the viewer. Will update with a review below soon.

Trailer:

Great interview with Werner Herzog and Errol Morris from Vice
