electro folk

One of the oldest folk songs of Japan is called Kokiriko-Bushi. It was performed in the village of Gokayama, one of three of Japan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites in honor of local shinto gods.

The experimental project Omodaka reinvented it and with the help of daft animator Teppei Makki, construced a strange but attractive cyber feel.
